Troubleshooting

Page content doesn’t display correctly

Page content doesn’t display correctly, such as:

  • Page links or images align to the left with missing text.
  • HTML codes are displayed instead of webpage content.
  • Suddenly you’re unable to view or log into a webpage.

How to fix it:

Check the page in incognito mode

  1. Check that no extensions are enabled to run in Incognito.
    1. Click the Chrome menu > Settings.
    2. Select “Extensions“.
    3. Click the show detail icon next to the extension for all your enabled extensions and make sure the “Allow in incognito” checkbox is unselected.
  2. Open a new incognito window by clicking the Chrome menu > New incognito window.
  3. Visit the website that was not displaying correctly.

If the page displays correctly in the incognito window, proceed with the following suggestions and check if the page displays correctly in a normal window.

Delete your browser’s cache

  1. Click the Chrome menu.
  2. Select “Tools“.
  3. Select Clear browsing data.
  4. In the dialog that appears, select the “Empty the cache” checkbox.
  5. Select the amount of data that you want to delete from the “Obliterate the following items from” drop down menu. We recommend clearing cache from “the beginning of time”.
  6. Click the Clear browsing data button to confirm.

Delete other browsing data

If clearing cache didn’t resolve the issue, try clearing other browsing data, such as history, cookies, and other site data. You can start by going back to the time when the issue did not occur and gradually increase to “the beginning of time”.

  1. Click the Chrome menu.
  2. Select “Tools“.
  3. Select Clear browsing data.
  4. Select the checkboxes for the types of information and amount of data that you want to delete.

Disable your extensions

Sometimes an extension can interfere how content is displayed on a page. You can disable extensions one by one to figure out which one is causing the problem.

  1. Click the Chrome menu > Settings.
  2. Select “Extensions“.
  3. For each extension, unselect the Enabled checkbox.
